What to expect from a Newborn photo shoot
Updated: 8 hours ago
Newborns are snuggly, sleepy and all curled up for about two weeks. So this is the best time to have your Newborn Photoshoot. They change so fast and it will feel it went by in a flash (trust me I can't believe how fast it went with my two babies). So capturing this will give you precious photos that take you right back and you’ll treasure them forever.
It's best to book as early as you can
The best approach is to book as soon as you can. Some expectant parents book in a photographer after their 20-week scan. And at the same time book in a Maternity photoshoot.
And while you may not have considered Maternity photos - they are worth thinking about as you may feel huge and having photos is the last thing you'd want but you honestly won't regret it. It's a special time being pregnant and you'll be so glad to have some photos that take you back to that time.
But it's never too late to get in touch even if you are due tomorrow!
Taken in your home for natural adorable photos
My newborn photo shoots are done in your home using natural light - this gives the most natural and adorable images. I'll capture your little one sleeping, stretching, yawning. And close-ups of those gorgeous tiny feet and hands. We'll also get some great photos of the baby with their new Mummy and Daddy. I will also capture the details of how you have prepared the nursery and the special blankets you have for example.
Don't worry too much about your home and does it have the right light and space. Leave that to me. A quick declutter of the rooms you want to use is all you need. I can even help you with that on the day. What to wear is always on peoples minds when they have a photoshoot. Babies can get through quite a few outfits in a day so have 4 or 5 picked out and a couple for yourselves. I strongly recommend something simple and plain for babies as we want their features to the focus not a pattern on a babygrow. Make sure you feel comfortable and I recommend something without strong patterns for the parents too.
We take things slowly and very relaxed with babies as they need time to feed and be changed. Typically it can take 2 to 3 hours to photograph Newborns.
Around two weeks after the photoshoot, I’ll send you an online gallery with your photos to view. They will be fully edited and ready for you to order. Either as digital images or prints. Take a look at my Newborn Gallery to see examples of the kind of photos you'd receive.
Get in touch now if you'd like to find out more. Ask me any questions you have and if you like we can discuss everything on the phone.
